Does anyone happen to know of any districts that have been selling off their EFXes? I stopped at Taylor Motors in Murray this past weekend to find several pre-owned EFXes in service for Fort Campbell. There was a #10 and a #11 along with one that was already re-numbered by Taylor. That is interesting, I'm not sure of any school districts that have already retired EFX's but I could be wrong. I know there are a few smaller fleets around KY that seem to replace their buses every 10-12 years but I couldn't tell you which ones off the top of my head. On a side note though, maybe the EFX's are buses that Taylor Motors has owned and moved around from a different location/ military base? It seems that they like to move their buses around from time to time, especially since they bought out DC Tours in Louisville. I don't claim to be an expert though as I've only seen what they operate in this area.

A few rarities for those who don't follow my flickr page. I found the scans of my film photos on my old computer and I'll share them over the next few days (apologizes in advance for the quality, my scanner is no longer compatible with my Mac and the digital scans are almost as old as the photos themselves). Jefferson County #8813 (Retired) by 92wardsenator, on Flickr The above is the only photo I have of JCPS's 1988 Wayne Fords when they were in service. I can't say I've seen any other photos of them from anyone else (in service or retired). They were all retired and sold off between 2005-06. Jefferson County #9255 (Retired) by 92wardsenator, on Flickr This is one of only photos that I have of JCPS's Senators when they were still on the road. All of JCPS's Senators were retired and sold to the state of South Carolina during Summer 2005. They remained in service in SC until around 2020. This particular bus, however, would be involved in an accident and totaled before the sale.

All of the Hybrid CEs have been removed from the road. Some of the 2011 C2 hybrids are still rolling and some of the 2012 C2 hybrids are rolling and others have had the transmission swapped to a regular trans to removed the hybrid functionality. If there was a C2 Hybrid option, then Cummins would have had to make it's ISB 6.7 Hybrid Engine an option for school buses. As far as Im aware, Cummins currently does not provide Hybrid Engines for School buses. We got them. Any C2 from 1137-1150 is a hybrid and the C2s numbered from 1216-1229 are hybrids. Somewhere between 1220-1225 had their hybrid transmissions removed. There was also an article that was published when we got the hybrids that featured the 12s in the background and discussed how JCPS had the largest hybrid fleet in the country at the time.

Iโm currently on mobile so I canโt link the pics but Iโve been uploading my film photos of retired Breckinridge County buses awaiting auction in 2005. This just happened to be a โright place, right timeโ moment as I had no idea these buses were going to be there. A lot of you might have seen these photos before on SBW but it is a nice look back. Scary to think these photos were taken almost 20 years ago ๐ฌ. www.flickr.com/photos/92wardsenatorfe/

Hopkins County #199 (Retired) by 92wardsenator, on Flickr ex-Hopkins County #199 spotted on the road around Hopkinsville, KY over the weekend. It's strange seeing a white roof on a Kentucky bus of this model year. It looks like it has been treated well as this bus was retired in 2007.

JCPS New Bus Update:
A friend of mine sent me video confirmation. We are getting HDXs and one is already on its way to Louisville. I did snag a screenshot of the bus, but the quality is not the greatest. The bus is numbered 2301. As the week goes on, I will ride down to Nichols and see if anymore show up.

For the summer, I am living about 20 minutes from High Point, where the Thomas manufacturing plant is, so I plan to hopefully make a visit out there (again).

I canโt wait to see them on the road. I never believed JCPS would purchase type D buses after the Senators were retired. I hope youโre enjoying NC. If I recall correctly there is quite a bit of the Thomas plant you can see from public streets. (Granted itโs been almost ten years since I last visited)

I FaceTimed Matt and showed him what I could see. Unfortunately a lot of the KY spec buses were blocked by trees and hadnโt been lettered yet. I did get some decent pictures when I visited. I did inquire about doing a formal visit and the manufacturer gave me the steps to do that.

Confirmation from the garage today that bus 2301, which was photographed, is ready to be picked up from the dealership. It is sitting at Wayne as we speak. I will let you all know when it makes itโs way over to the garage. Im not really sure why, but this is so exciting for me. For anyone that lives in Louisville, if you go to the Nichols compound anytime soon, you will have the opportunity to snap pics of our 2022 IC CEs sitting along with the one 2023 HDX when it gets picked up. As for the 2022 CEs, I did decide to be nosy one morning and get on one and interesting enough, they were ordered with cup holders. Those who donโt know, the cup holders on a CE are in the door of the driver console in the dash, which is inconvenient for storing things.
