Those buses look like toys compared to the real thing!

IC CE in China of all places, home of the IC clones. How did that get here?

that's nice, China's got something legit for the second time. It's in Hong Kong, and it is the real thing. Well, in its first life, it was a school bus here in the United States. Since its retirement (this is a mid-1970s Ward/Ford), this somehow ended up on the other side of the world as a decoration.

Going back to a couple of pictures...yes, the buses that look like IC CEs actually are the real thing. A few years ago, IC and Blue Bird showed their Type C buses off at trade shows in China to gauge interest in importing buses to China to expand usage of dedicated school buses. From what it looks like, that did not come to be. Though China is still moving towards a dedicated design, the American design was not adopted (as a whole); this is why we are seeing these "interesting" vehicles.
One interesting thing I have noticed...outside of North America (for new buses), it is almost unheard of to use conventional-style chassis for a bus body, making the yellow Chinese bus designs even more distinctive. (In many parts of the world, few trucks are conventional-style as well).
