I was talking to one of my coworkers the other day and I noticed that backpacks are becoming an issue, again. It seemed for a while after covid that most kids were using tablets and didn't take much to and from school. Now I have one kid whose backpack must weigh 100 pounds. Last week he nearly hit me with it when he was exiting the bus. I know it wasn't on purpose but there has to be a better way. Another kid on my route last year had a rolling backpack that they would drag down the stairs, I was always afraid he would end up breaking one of my doors with it. Does anyone else have trouble with students with backpacks or other carry-on items? In our driver meetings we talk about safety a lot and I think this could be an issue.
