I came across an interesting article discussing one school district's trial run of an electric school bus.
According to the article, Ohio County Schools (WV) has been given a GreenPower BEAST electric school bus as part of a pilot program. They have been using the bus for nearly a month now, and they will continue to use it until 12/23. These findings are based off of two different drivers who have driven said bus for their routes so far.
Here are some highlights:

They have been using the bus for nearly a month now, and they will continue to use it until 12/23. These findings are based off of two different drivers who have driven said bus for their routes so far.
Here are some highlights:
- The range on the BEAST is 130 miles. However, this is without using heat or A/C. Using these systems will shorten the range to approx. 80 miles (according to the school mechanics).
- The charger that they are using will fully charge the bus in eight hours. However, other chargers are available that could charge in less time.
- The bus has the power to climb hills. However, the bus may not go as fast to conserve energy.
- Drivers "do seem to like the buses".
The full article elaborates more on some of the bullet points mentioned above. Although other articles may exist, this is the first one that I can recall that discusses the implementation of an electric school bus and corresponding data.
