According to India Today, ten students either suffocated or fainted when 130 students were crammed onto a school bus in Madurai. The driver allegedly parked the bus for over 30 minutes because officials were conducting vehicle inspections in the area. This was a contributing factor to the students facing difficulty breathing. Some factors aren't clear, such as how many students the bus was designed to hold. However this is a good example of why we have the regulations that we do in the USA.)

All I can say is... yikes! I have to wonder what the actual seated capacity of the bus was instead of 130.
Around here (in America), we stop at 84-90 for the largest school buses and the largest motorcoaches barely fit 60. 130 in a school bus is unsafe (obviously); at that point, the physical limits of the chassis, suspension, and tires (regardless of the bus) have to be taken into consideration. This is a scenario where a bus could be 12-15,000 pounds heavier than normal.
