I miss seeing the type of bus I rode to preschool on. It was a 1993 or 1994 Amtran Ford B600.

Honestly, I don't miss any of my buses besides Maranata Bus 235, that bus was the old icon of my youtube channel before it was renamed to Arleth. She was a 2003 Blue Bird All American that was owned by my district before it was sold to Maranta. It was retired in the summer of this year so the company could purchase newer buses. It is unknown where 235 is at the moment but I suspect that it was sold to Honduras or El Salvador post-retirement.

Oof where do I begin? In general I miss the BB GMs and the Fords, the last of them in my area disappeared last year. There are still plenty of 3800s around here yet. I think FS-65s might have disappeared with Bricker. I miss the Waynes, even though we didn't have many in our area to start with, an S-1700 and B700 notably. And the Carpenters, though the school district is still holding onto 1 Carpenter Classic 2000 that I need to get pictures of before it is gone, its probably one of the last ones in existence. Specifically however, I vaguely remember an old Bluebird International I used to see when I was in Kindergarten, it was perhaps an early 80s, with chrome rims. I couldn't say the operator for sure, but I think it might have been Friese, it would fit their specs. It disappeared not long after that and the memories I have of it are just brief flashes.

I do miss back when the ICREs used to be ordered a lot more than they were today. Everything is just all Bluebird, Thomas, and ICCEs these days. I swear Districts hold a grudge against IC bus's lineup. First the FE, then the Type A/B, and now the RE. what has happened to variety?

Unless operators actually have a need for a bus that's larger than 72-78 passengers, a rear-engine bus is not as cost-effective as a conventional-style bus. Saving thousands of dollars on lower purchase price per unit is money spent on other things (hiring/paying drivers, fuel, maintenance/upkeep, etc etc.) ----- Going back to topic a bit, I miss the old-school All Americans and Saf-T-Liners (of the buses I have actually seen...); the Crown Supercoach would be another mention for this list...

My opinion has changed since then. I found out that it's actually due to the RE's engine lineup. the RE is only offered with the L9 because the engine compartment was apparently too small to fit the B6.7 in. And we see districts moving more and more towards Medium Duty Engines as time went on. It's the same reason why the HDX is always ordered with the B6.7, and only some order it with the L9. They are focused more on terrain than the Stop and Go power the L9 offers, which is technically logical, but if the drivers wanted the same acceleration power they got from the older Heavy Duty Engines in a New Bus with an HD engine like the L9, they are gonna have a little harder time since the majority of all the buses in the entire nation runs on the MD engine. In Simpler terms, the RE was discontinued because it wasn't selling well due to it's only engine being the L9, the engine that districts are moving away from, and the engine that's slowly losing interest in the School Bus. Market.

I saw a Crown by Carpenter Ford yesterday. I think it might have been the second time I've seen this combo in person (and sadly might be the last as there aren't many left out there...).
