Okay yall, what got you interested in school buses?
And PS - if you've opened this topic, it's too late... you have to spill the beans now! LOL

Also can't forget the bus drivers! If you drive, why did you pick driving a big yellow school bus versus any other career?

Hmmm good question, I think it was due to the fact that I didn't really get to ride a bus too much in Elementary school. They were a novelty to me

Well, it first started with my family telling me I had to go to school and I couldn't stay home and watch TV all day. ๐ Closer to the actual context of this topic, my answer is a little closer to tristan s. When I started high school (middle school on the bus was a bad experience), the bus I got to ride was the oddball type of the bus fleet and I was curious about what a Blue Bird TC/2000 was. (This was "several" years ago; I doubt 92wardsenator was making websites yet๐)

Well, it all started in the faraway nation of El Salvador in the year 2020. I was 13 at the time and I desired to start making videos on vehicles for YouTube videos, but the thing was that I didn't know what kind of vehicles I wanted to photograph. After thinking for a little under a minute, I asked myself a question, "What is the most colorful thing around?" I thought to myself for a moment and I came to the conclusion that I wanted to start photographing and videotaping the school buses there. So from there, I became a bus photographer for YouTube. This is where I began my interest in school buses, because I wanted to celebrate my home nation in a way that involved vehicles.

The thing that got me into school buses was that I not only rode them from home to school and vice versa, but also that one of the rules for my high school swim team (which I tried out for and made it to in 10th grade) was that they MUST ride the school bus to and from swim meets.

Honestly...no idea. Living just down the street from the local bus lot probably helped.
As for taking photos, relatively few people know that I started off with transit buses several years ago, then moved on to school buses once I had a photo of every active city bus in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. I distinctly remember one of my transit friends asking why I didn't take photos of school buses, and my response being that there were too many contractors and districts to keep up with. How things have changed since then!
